Ms. Shriner is an English teacher at Wheeling Park High School who is dedicated to her job. Ms. Shriner has been here at Wheeling Park High School since 1997. She was then a full time substitute at Wheeling Park High School for several years until she then took on a full time position and has been a full time teacher for 24 years.
This is Ms. Shriner’s last year as a full time teacher at Wheeling Park High School due to retirement. After her retirement she plans to come back and be a part time substitute. While Shriner loves her teaching job, she can’t wait to do many other things after her retirement.
“I have an Alaskan Cruise scheduled with my daughter, her husband and his mom,” said Shriner.
While loving her job, she can’t wait to do many other things in life while still being able to be a part time substitute.
Ms. Shriner has three children, her oldest daughter Jenny, middle daughter Amy, and youngest son Donald. Following her retirement she is most excited to spend time with her family.
Many students love Ms. Shriner and mourn her leaving.
Logan Wilson is a sophomore student currently in Ms. Shriner’s 10th grade English class.
“One thing I like about Ms. Shriner is that she is a very immersive teacher, and takes pride in what she does,” said Wilson.
Mrs. Shriner takes pride in her work, not only stated by her students but by her colleagues including her teacher friend of many years, Mrs. Schrebe.
“Her passion for lifelong learning resonates with her students, inspiring them to take ownership of their education. The way she integrates technology into her lessons keeps the classroom dynamic and exciting, allowing students to explore topics in innovative ways,” said Schrebe. “Her commitment to fostering a love of learning makes her an exceptional teacher who positively impacts her students’ lives”.
After her long years here at Wheeling Park High School it is officially time to hang her badge, as she pursues more fulfilling things.
