Wheeling Park High School is excited to announce the return of its CTE Programs Summer Camp. Designed for students eager to explore hands-on learning and discover career pathways, the camp offers participants a unique opportunity to sample a wide range of CTE programs offered at the school for incoming students!
Running only two days, June 11-12, the camp features interactive sessions in career areas such as agriculture, social journalism, and engineering, culinary, and machine tool technology, providing a taste of the various options available at Park. Students will have the chance to engage in hands on activities, meet experienced instructors, and collaborate with peers who share their interests. Each session is crafted to be both educational and fun, encouraging students to step outside their comfort zones and try something new.
“Our CTE department offers a lot of different things that people don’t know about; what our summer camp offers is a glimpse into everything. People can kind of get a taste of everything in the school. It’s just such a big program that no one can really focus on the whole thing. It allows people to focus in on what they would enjoy and pursue in their future,” said Mr. Doyle, a principal at Park.
Students will participate in team building exercises and creative challenges designed to foster problem solving skills and collaboration. From exploring innovative technology to learning essential life skills, the camp aims to spark curiosity and a passion for lifelong learning.
“The whole point of the CTE summer camp is giving kids the chance from the middle schools to come up and experience our programs in a way so they know what they want to do at Park,” Mrs. Marshall, the adviser for graphic designers in Studio 235 and CTE teacher at Park, said.
Enrollment is open and free for all interested students. You can sign up using this link.
