The Wheeling History podcast explores the past of Wheeling, WV to give us perspective on our present and future!

Romeo appeases the Ghost of Christmas Present to learn more about the Oglebay Festival of Lights and how Wheeling Park students of both past and present work to create the magic of Wheeling’s most well-known event.

Romeo Blake is a sophomore at Wheeling Park High School. This is his first year at The Park Press. Romeo has been involved with school broadcasting since 6th grade middle school. He has solely produced over 40 school news blocks in middle school, and has been involved with Wheeling Park’s Broadcasting Program “WPHP” since freshman year. When he’s not in school, Romeo is usually out working the Wheeling Park football games for Mrs. Dillon. In his free time he enjoys taking walks, hanging out with friends, and relaxing.

JoceLynn McFarland, Director of Design

JoceLynn is the Director of Design for the Park Press, and this is her third year working for the press as a senior. JoceLynn enjoys stories about her favorite things such as books and films. She also likes writing deeper topics about mental health because she believes these topics are important and deserve to be talked about. The lyric “And if you never bleed, you’re never gonna grow,” from the song “the 1” from Folklore, is her favorite.
