While many believe success starts with a college degree, Wheeling native Kaitlyn Holeczy proves that there’s more than one way to chase your dreams. As a Certified Trainer at 7Brew, one of the fastest-growing coffee chains in the nation, Holeczy has turned her passion for connection and growth into a career that’s taken her across the country, helping others along the way.
“I just recently received the title as a Certified Trainer for 7Brew. This job has lots of opportunities to meet new people, create bonds, and come out of your comfort zone,” Holeczy said.
Holeczy’s role involves traveling to new store locations, training hires on recipes and company culture.
Before starting with 7Brew, Holeczy worked to manage multiple commitments. However, she felt the need for a change.
“Last year I was working at a fast-food restaurant that wasn’t a good environment while also going to school. I decided to look for a new job and got hired at 7Brew,” Holeczy said. “Originally, I had planned on going back to school online, but plans had changed, and I decided to take a year off.”
Holeczy finds fulfillment in forming lasting relationships and guiding others as they start their journey with 7Brew.
“The most rewarding part about traveling for work is the people and those connections you get to make, with not only the team, but also these new hires who look up to you,” Holeczy said.
While her career has been fulfilling, it hasn’t been without obstacles.
“The biggest challenge I face is questioning if my decision was right,” Holeczy said.
Despite doubts, she recognizes the personal growth she has gained.
“Right now, I think this is the best choice for my relationship and myself, as I have started this new traveling position, just got recently engaged, and have lots of life/family planning going on,” Holeczy said.
Balancing work and personal life while traveling is difficult.
“When you are several hours away from home and your partner, it is a mental game that you must play,” Holeczy said, but she maintains a routine with her fiancé and family.
Looking ahead, Holeczy plans to keep growing both personally and professionally.
“In 5 years, I am hoping to have a degree, a loving marriage, one or two kids, a house, and hopefully a higher position within 7Brew or another business in management,” Holeczy said.
While her path may not follow the traditional route, it’s clear that Holeczy is shaping a life that aligns with her values and aspirations—proving that success is a journey uniquely tailored to everyone.
Her advice for those uncertain about the traditional school path is simple: “Do what you truly think is the best for YOU. This is your life, so make the best out of it and live it your way.”
