Ella Wheeler, Assistant Designer
Ella Wheeler is a sophomore staff writer for The Park Press. Ella is very skilled in talking when she is not supposed to, along with being absolutely hilarious. Previously, she has written an assortment of grocery lists throughout the years, making her extremely qualified to write for The Park Press.
Outside of school, Ella has also tried almost every sport under the sun, and is still not very skilled or liked in any of them. One that she has taken a liking for is golf. She is currently sitting in the Top 6 players on the girls team. Ella also participates in the Wheeling Park Speech and Debate team which is extremely successful.
Ella Mae Wheeler, Web Designer
Ella Mae Wheeler is the web designer for The Park Press and a junior at Wheeling Park High School. She wrote for The Park Press during her sophomore year and has never looked back. Most famously, she wrote The Dying Deer of Oglebay, which delved into the parasitic disease that killed thousands of deer in 2024.
Outside of The Park Press, Ella Mae is involved in many different clubs and extracurricular activities, including the 45th consecutive winning Speech and Debate Team. More specifically, she tends to stay in the latter half of the team, as she competes in Congress and Public Forum. She additionally had the honor of becoming the State Champion for Spontaneous Argumentation (SPAR).
While she may be a debater and journalist by day, she tends to be a barista by night, as she works at a local cafe. Ella is also an active member of the first Wheeling Park Girls’ golf team, although being active doesn’t always mean being good. Ella also thoroughly enjoys researching and learning new things, no matter how random they may be. One of her favorite things she has ever discovered was the story of “Baby Jessica.”
