The Park Bowling team is beginning a new season with many new faces. With most of last year’s players having graduated, only a few athletes are returning players for both the boys’ and girls’ teams.
“Almost the whole team graduated last year, so we’re bringing back only a couple of players. The rest are new. It will be exciting — a big change, but I’m looking forward to this,” said head coach Mr. Orth.
Coach Orth plans to focus on practice and teamwork to help the new players adjust.
“We’re going to make sure we keep practicing and working with the new players who don’t know as much,” said Orth.
His goal for the season is simple: to see improvement from the start to the end of the year. Aaron Chao, a returning player, is also optimistic about building a strong, united team.
“There are a few of us returning from last season, and the rest are new players. I’m going to try to get everyone together and make the team work,” said Chao.
Orth, this being his fourth year coaching, enjoys seeing the team grow.
“One of the best parts of coaching is spending time with the students outside of school and watching them develop as players and as a team,” said Orth.
With fresh energy and a focus on teamwork, the bowling team is ready to roll into the season.
