Varsity Soccer ‘Passing’ to Championship

Varsity+Soccer+Passing+to+Championship

The varsity soccer teams are heading into their season with a great winning start, the boys with a seven-to-two record and the girls with a six-to-two record. Recently, they both had a game against Brooke, in which the boys won six to two. Tresz McLeod (#9), Kolten Whitmire (#12), and Wilson Hanna (#17), each scored two goals at Brooke, with goalie Gavin Border making five good saves at the games. For the girls, they won five to zero. Merritt Delk (#10) scored three goals and Lily Hanna (#22) scored 2 for her team; they all showed good leadership and team chemistry. Here’s the inside scoop on how the season is going so far.

“Seeing my captains on the field inspires me to keep playing. I just want to win,” Joshua Albrecht (#19)  says.

“I love playing soccer. I’ll continue to play in college,” Brian Gonzales (#22) says.

Coach Mario gave his team a lecture about their last game and explained how they played better as a team. Here’s what Coach Mario had to say about the boys.

“Pretty good, we’ve been showing a lot of energy,” Coach Mario says.

“Talent in the future is looking bright,” says Coach Hanna.

They’ve been training daily to improve their performance and be the best team in West Va. “We always work together,” says Bailey Meredith (#2).

“My teammates and coaches motivate me,” Lily Hanna (#22) says.

Our soccer teams are off to a great start. Make sure to come out and support them this season, and remember to show your Park pride in the stands!
