Boys’ Basketball beat Parkersburg 62-58 in a back-and-forth affair at the Palace on January 6th. The Patriots defended their home court once again, and now sit 5-0 at home. They were led by senior Mykel Davis, who boasted a strong senior night leading all scorers with 23 points.
“It was a great win. We have six seniors and they came in during the COVID times, so their first season wasn’t really smooth. And they have all stayed the course and they all play a huge role for our team,” said Coach Jebbia, on what this means for his seniors. “It wasn’t the easiest game by any means Parkersburg has a tough team but it was nice to pull it out for the seniors.”
“I see the direction of the team going up. We are playing really well and we are getting better every day and every practice,” said Mykel Davis when asked about his thoughts on the direction of the team.
Other notable scorers were Amare Johnson with 16 points and Aiden Davis and Joshua Huffman each scoring 9 points. The Patriots rise to 7-2 while the Big Reds fall to 2-7. The next home game for the Boys will be on January 17th where they take on rivals Morgantown.
