The 2025-2026 Swim Season has begun!
Led by Coach Cook, the captains this season are seniors Molly George and Brady Bowie. The other seniors are Mallory Parks, Kendra Beaver, Bryton Alig, and Garrett Haggerty.
Second-year captain, Molly George, is excited for the new season. She plans to use her experiences to lead the team and create lasting memories.
“I’m excited to take on the role of captain this year,” said George, “I’m happy to be able to use my experiences from last year in this year’s season, and I’m hoping throughout the season we can do team bonding activities to really get closer and stronger as a team.”
George also personally hopes for a good individual season. She finished second in the state in backstroke last year and hopes to keep up that momentum this swim season.
“My personal goal this year is to snag a record. Ultimately, I just want to improve and get top 3 at states again this year,” said George.
The team as a whole is prepared to succeed this year, and Coach Cook has high hopes. He plans to keep his team on track and motivated in and out of the pool.
“We are looking for a good season, our ladies’ team is good & should have some very competitive races. The guys’ team is a little smaller, but should have a good year led by their upperclassmen. Our team is encouraged to work during practice to get the best results on race day,” said Cook.
The team’s eventual goal is to place well in OVACs and States. Cook hopes to have as many swimmers as possible qualify.
“My hope this season is to be competitive and send as many swimmers as we can to the OVAC and State Championships,” said Cook.
The first meet is at the Park Natatorium on Thursday, November 13. Wish our swimmers well!
