This year’s senior class made their mark—literally—by painting their senior parking spot. Students had the opportunity to transform their parking spaces into vibrant works of art. On a sunny day filled with excitement, paintbrushes, and creativity, seniors came together to personalize their spots, with the added thrill of friendly competition as students voted for their favorites in various categories.
Best Duo: Kaylee Stout and Taylor Wilson The coveted Best Duo award went to Kaylee and Taylor, whose matching spots symbolized their close bond. Kaylee shared that the duo looked to Pinterest for inspiration and wanted their spots to highlight their special friendship.
“We started by taping the outline of our initial. There weren’t many challenges, but it took a lot of patience,” Kaylee said.
The pair’s patience paid off as their bold, complementary designs stood out, earning them their win.
Taylor added, “I was very excited to find out we won! I put a lot of effort into my spot and was glad people liked it.”
Most Iconic: Shae Marling When it comes to leaving an impression, Shae did just that with her bougie, Tiffany & Co.-inspired design. Winning the award for Most Iconic, Shae channeled her love for luxury and perfection.
“I was proud of it. It took a lot of work, and I love being iconic,” Shae said.
The day was made even more special with the help of her Aunt Brandi, who contributed to creating a cherished memory.
Shae’s advice to future seniors? “Use a decal for your text and sponge the letters!”
Most Creative: Alex Fabrizio Alex, a theater enthusiast, brought his love of the arts to his parking spot, which won Most Creative. His design, inspired by theater playbills and key high school moments, was a testament to his passion.
“Theater is a huge part of my life and is what I want to do in the future,” Alex shared. Despite some challenges—like the hay strewn across the lot—Alex was happy with the result, especially because he got to share the experience with his mom.
His advice to underclassmen? “Don’t take your last year for granted. It’s the last time you’ll be doing some of the things you love.”
The day was filled with laughter, music, and a sense of accomplishment as seniors added their personal flair to the school. Despite the hard work, hot weather, and sunburns, the overall consensus was that the experience was well worth it.
“I’m so glad we got the opportunity to paint our spots. It was so much fun and created a great memory,” Kaylee said.
As this was the second year of the painted parking spot tradition, it has quickly become a beloved event for seniors. Not only does it offer a unique opportunity for students to express themselves, but it also fosters camaraderie and school spirit. It’s clear that this event is more than just painting—it’s a lasting memory of seniors’ final year for them to carry with them long after they’ve driven out of the lot for the final time. With each passing year, the tradition grows stronger, ensuring that future seniors will continue to take part in this vibrant celebration of creativity and community.
