Alexis Bordas completed a fantastic achievement. She scored her 1,000th point in a basketball game on February 10th in only her sophomore season.

Girls Basketball Head Coach Young says, “I think that it’s a pretty incredible achievement, especially at her age and we are very proud of her.”

Alexis has played basketball for about twelve years. “I started playing when I was four and I would play in the Y-league, then I started playing with older kids,” says Alexis.

Although this is an incredible achievement, it was not surprising that this would happen. “We knew coming into this year that she already had over 500 points so mathematically we knew that this was probably going to happen,” Coach Young stated.

“Scoring 1,000 points definitely felt very good because most people score the points as Juniors or Seniors. It shows how hard I have worked and I am very happy that I was able to do this,” Alexis said. Alexis said that she definitely felt the love from her teammate’s coaches and family.

We are all extremely proud of Alexis and we wish her the best of luck as the whole team pursues a state championship!
