The month of March is National Women’s Month and here at Park, we have many amazing women role models. One spectacular women who is the department chairperson for PE/Health/Drivers Ed., Mrs. Audrey Abraham.

“I teach PE 1, Group Fitness, Online Health, and classes from the Personal Fitness and Wellness training CTE Program. I am also the club advisor for the Ice Cube Club,” said Mrs. Abraham as she tells us what she does here at Park.

Mrs. Abraham continues to talk about her experience at her job.

“I believe that being a leader in any position brings challenges, but I feel we all work well together and enjoy being around each other. Each person in this department brings something special to our department and their students. I really appreciate the much support they have given me over the years,” Mrs. Abraham says.

Mrs. Abraham loves her career and being able to move around a lot. She realized during Covid that she could not sit at a desk all day.

Teachers are more than just their jobs and Mrs. Abraham has many interests and hobbies.

“I enjoy being with my family, attending my kids’ sporting events, walking, teaching group fitness classes, taking in Broadway shows, and watching Lifetime movies. I really love being home, but I also enjoy being active in the community. Currently I serve as a deacon at my church, along with participating on the Viennese Ball Committee for the Wheeling Symphony,” said Mrs. Abraham.

One thing about Mrs. Abraham is that she loves her family dearly and is a great mother!

“I truly enjoy being a mom, although it is not always easy. I am usually travelling in the car or sitting at a game, but I have enjoyed watching my kids grow with each new stage. Every step of the way I have learned something myself, and in turn have grown as a person. I am not a perfect mom, but I try my best to always be supportive of my kids, and to be a good role model for them to look up to,” Mrs. Abraham said.

Mrs. Abraham is a great teacher who loves her career and tries to make her space the best for all of her students. She is very hardworking and a great woman!
