    A Unique Perspective

    A Unique Perspective

Ms. Unique has a lot planned for the end of January and the whole month of February!

Ms. Unique said for the month of January she is mainly focusing on the attendance, but she has a lot of fun things planned for the month of February.

“Toward the end of the month of January, I’m going to do a video on hygiene which will go out during DG. You know we’re getting into these cooler months, but then we’re gonna jump back into spring and then eventually to summer. Ultimately, we just need to have that conversation with everyone,” said Unique.

She is working hard to prepare and help to educate the importance of Black History Month.

“I’m going to have my textured hair expo again this year. That will be at Bridge Street and there’s a lot of new things that we’re going to have at the event other than just hair. We’ve invited some local artists in the area and some photographers who are going to display artwork and some pictures. We are hopefully looking to do another giveaway. We’re going to have finger foods, music, and just a lot of good conversation surrounding Black History Month and those really tough and difficult conversations,” said Unique.

Ms. Unique is doing this to help educate everyone on the importance and the history. Also to help families really just learn how to speak to their kids and guide them.

Ms. Unique is also planning a Black History Month spirit week for here at Park. It is something that the school has never done before, and Ms. Unique is very excited for it. She worked on it last year when she came up with the idea, and she is meeting with the history department to plan some cool things. She doesn’t have a date set yet but it is going to happen.

“I’m also working really hard to collaborate with the history department because it is 50 years of Hip-Hop this year. We are making sure that we highlight that this year. We’re going to work with Mrs. Dillon and the radio to just do some cool things that I am really looking forward to,” said Unique.

Ms. Unique would also like to involve some of the community for Black History Month. She isn’t too sure yet but this is something that she would truly like to do.

“I would love to bring in some influential people that are from our community or maybe even went to this high school. People who have made a difference and really care a lot about Black History Month. People who are making sure that the kids today are up to date with your knowledge and things like that,” said Unique.

Ms. Unique is super excited and very much looking forward to all of the ideas and plans she has. She is doing a great job to make sure students and people are educated about their surroundings and looking out for others.
