Beneke Update

Beneke+Update

The original Beneke theater is loved by many at Wheeling Park high school. Last year, it was time to be redone. With Mr. Cornforth leaving, abruptly remodeling the Beneke hit a little hard for some people, as it held many memories over the years. The ongoing question over the past year has been , “When will the Beneke reopen?” And on a positive note, the reopening of the new, and improved Beneke theater will be soon!

“I’m hoping that the Beneke will be open by the end of the month” said Mrs. Dailer, when I asked for the newest update on the theater. “The Beneke received new carpet last week, it looks really great”.

Things for the Beneke seem to be looking great in terms of furnishing. Though, there are still some things that need touching up.

“There’s a little bit of electrical work that still needs to be completed and tucked away” Mrs. Dailer said after I asked what work needed to be done.

Some students and staff feel sad about the remodeling, considering the Beneke holds wonderful memories.

“Sometimes these are blessings in disguise, it’s going to look a lot better and fresher”, Mrs. Dailer said. “I plan on painting it over the summer, to update the look. It’s been a long time since it’s been touched, so it definitely needed some TLC” she expressed.

With all of this exciting news, the Beneke theater will be open again in the near future, so hold on tight for just a little longer! Because it’s almost done, and it’ll be ready, better than ever.
