As some of you may know there is a Dunkin’ Donuts opening soon on National Road across from Tim Hortons. Some have concerns that Dunkin’ may put Tim Hortons out of business.
Mr Turbanic, the Marketing Management Career and Technical Education teacher, weighs in on the potential future of these competing businesses on National Road.
“Competition between two companies like Tim Hortons and Dunkin’ Donuts helps the customer because the customer will receive the best deal possible. The companies are always trying to win the customers’ dollars and loyalty, so they will adapt and provide products and services at the best price and efficiency. This makes the customer happy,” said Turbanic.
In total, 39% of U.S. restaurant chain customers say they like Dunkin’ Donuts, and approximately 15% of all Canadians visit Tim Hortons. That’s 5.3 million Canadians according to Statista. Both chains are popular across the continent.
If competition is better for customers, then Wheeling residents are going to have a very sweet future in more ways than one.
“A business that shows compassion can help it relate with its community. For example, larger companies that put forth an effort to help those in need. If your community has something tragic happen, like what we are seeing in the south with the hurricane and the damage they created, the company can show compassion by helping its community either with monetary donations to support local causes or to provide assistance if they can,” said Turbanic
