Emma Wear is a senior this year at Wheeling Park High School. She is a four year member of the Wheeling Park Softball team, and a member and Copy Editor for the Park Press.
Emma is a passionate, dedicated writer. The Park Press is lucky enough to have had her for the last year.
“I joined the press the second semester of my junior year because I had a hole in my schedule. The first three days, I went home to my mom and told her that I wanted to quit, and now it’s my favorite class,” Emma said.
Emma is very passionate about Softball, she’s committed to playing after high school for Waynesburg University.
“I’ve been playing softball since I was six. I’m going to Waynesburg to play in college. If I had to choose one thing, I would say my favorite part about softball is giving lessons,” Emma said.
In college, Emma plans to major in early childhood education with special needs and a minor in journalism.
Emma offers advice to incoming freshmen looking to get involved:
“There’s not much I can say to make it better. I would say not to be nervous, but that doesn’t work anyway. I still get nervous as a senior, it doesn’t really go away,” Emma said.
Emma said, “You just have to find people that you enjoy being around, and put yourself around good influences that make high school a fun experience.”
Emma will be missed both by the Press and by her peers at Wheeling Park. We wish her luck for her freshman year!
