Delaney is a senior at Wheeling Park High School, it was a short journey for her at Wheeling Park High School as she came to our school in the middle of her junior year.
She first attended a private school in Marshall County and then moved to St. Clairsville, Warwood and Oak Glen. When she finally arrived at Wheeling Park High School she learned that bigger schools have more opportunities, more people, and more in general!
Delaney is an expert at schools now. She advises incoming freshman to “always be outside of your comfort zone and just don’t care what people say–be yourself.”
Delaney spreads kindness and optimism everywhere she goes. She often focuses on the bright side of any situation and lends her help to anyone in need.
“People will be mean to you, but I promise you everything will be okay high school isn’t as bad as everyone says if you follow the rules and join clubs and be a part of Park!” said Delaney.
Delaney joined the Park Press in her second semester senior year and wishes she joined sooner. She leaves lasting wisdom to underclassmen about getting involved:
“Do good in school; keep up your work; turn [work] in on time; be nice to teachers; and keep your circle small. Don’t get into the wrong group and then go down the wrong path.”
After graduation, she is beginning classes at West Virginia Northern Community College toward a major in psychology. After that, Delaney plans to enroll in West Virginia Wesleyan to complete her degree.
