Finishing his first year on the print, Wheeling Park High School senior, Alex Fabrizio, has made a huge impact at Park, from the press all the way to the theater department.
“I really wanted to do a podcast and I just love Mrs Droginske, and getting the opportunity to work with people who I otherwise wouldn’t have gotten the opportunity to,” said Fabrizio.
His favorite thing about making podcasts is learning about new topics or new views on different topics.
When working for the press, staff writers all have their favorite articles that they have written, or whichever one they are currently writing.
“The one [article] I’m working on right now for Weelunk about impactful directors in our community for local theater,” said Fabrizio.
Fabrizio is a part of many extracurriculars here at Wheeling Park. He is a member of the Park Players where he serves as president, the International Thespian Society, Patriot Choir, and the Speech and Debate Team.
“I have been doing a lot with props and stuff, as I am prop head, but I think it’s [the musical] going to be good, it’s going well,” said Fabrizio.
Fabrizio is sent to go to Slippery Rock, where he is majoring in theater to continue his career.
Just a little over a month ago, Wheeling Park’s very own Speech and Debate Team won their 45th consecutive state title and Fabrizio placed 3rd for Informative Speaking.
“Obviously, we have a lot of pressure on us as a team, and then as individuals on the team you always want to strive to do your best just to help get to that big number,” said Fabrizio, “As you’re sitting there waiting for the head of the district to say the winners, and hearing her say year 45 for Wheeling Park. As a senior it just lifts this whole weight off your chest, because you know you’re done and you get to pass it off to the new legacy.”
We can’t wait to see what the future holds for Alex Fabrizio, and we wish him the best!
