While the word opposite means completely different and pulling away from each other, sometimes opposites attract!
Here at the park, seniors Lauren Spears and Josh Albrect are known as a contrasting pair. Although they may seem similar on the outside, they are distinctly different.
“I think one big thing that makes us opposite is that I would say I have a bigger personality than him, he’s more shy and quiet while I’m more outgoing in a way, we are similar in some ways as well; we both play soccer and after our banquet junior year we decided to get to know each other, ” said Lauren.
Extroverts and introverts can make a balanced pair that challenges each other in the best way.
“We hung out a lot during summer, and it was nice cause we hung out every weekend; we went on walks and were with his dogs a lot of the time, and we went to Tilt a lot as well, but I couldn’t win any games though compared to him,” said Lauren.
Perhaps in physical appearance, too, this couple’s contrast is really about their personalities.
“I’m tall and she’s short, and I think that sticks out a lot when you look at us, she’s more talkative and outgoing in contrast to me; I’m more secluded, and she’s more extroverted, I don’t get out there as much as her,” said Josh.
Regardless of their contrasting traits, they manage to find similar experiences as well with each other.
“We had a banquet together for soccer and just started texting after that, I thought she looked nice in her dress as well,” said Josh.
Love sees more similarities than differences when opposites attract. While being opposite in personalities and social settings, this pair enjoys playing soccer as well as going to the arcade. Despite these characteristics, this match continues to blossom.
