John McCabe is the Editorial Director for the Ogden Newspapers. He is responsible for the company’s 55 daily newspapers and other weekly newspapers across 18 states.
McCabe started out as a reporter, and with perseverance, he ascended to the role he is in now.
“After five years as a reporter, I moved into the role of city editor of The Intelligencer. Five years after that, I became managing editor of the newspapers, and then in 2015 was named editorial director for our company” said McCabe.
McCabe has always had a passion for telling stories. He learned quickly how important local news is, and how it shapes a community.
“As I grew in my career I also learned quickly to appreciate the important role community journalists fill in helping shape where they live,” said McCabe.
McCabe has a passion for writing, and is always looking for a way to improve and help inform the community around him. His promotions are a direct result of his hard work and ability to embrace the changing world of journalism.
“I learned quickly that hard work does pay off” said McCabe, “I loved being a reporter; getting out and talking to people about what’s happening in town, learning how to draw intimate details out of a person during an interview, Those are such interesting skills that will assist you in everything you do in life”.
John McCabe is living proof that it is always beneficial to strive for more in all parts of your life.
