The actors at The Strand Theatre are putting on a production of A Charlie Brown Christmas on December 21 and 22 to spread holiday cheer by recreating a Christmas classic. Tickets can be purchased via https://www.strandtheatrewv.com/events
With the show coming up quickly, the cast has been rehearsing since September to be ready for opening night. Although typically known as simply a fun holiday film, for director Renee Storm, being in charge of this beautiful production means something more.
“I love working with kids and the community,” said Storm.
Not only that, but Storm simply loves spreading holiday cheer, which can also be seen when she is performing with a Victorian-style caroling group during the holiday season.
This production isn’t only special to the director, though. Jana Schodzinski, a junior at Wheeling Park High School and former writer for the press, performs as Lucy in the play.
“I’ve enjoyed re-immersing myself with the Peanuts crew,” said Schodzinski.
As a child, she performed as Charlie Brown in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown. This current production involving the Peanuts has produced nostalgia for Schodzinski, Storm, and every other actor involved.
Storm recommends that if anyone is searching for some holiday nostalgia and cheer, to come and see the production, since it truly isn’t Christmas without Charlie Brown.
