Horror movies are something that has been loved for many years. Not just during Halloween, but all year around. But what makes these horror movies so lovable? What about horror movies make people wanting to watch more?
“There are so many factors, one is just that thrill seeking kind of thing, the same thing that makes us want to ride rollercoasters,” said Dr. Romick, teacher of the Art of Film class.
When thinking about horror movies, you probably think of The Shining or Friday the 13th, But what movies truly make the genre of horror what it is today.
“I love Wes Craven and I think he does a good job with the Scream movies and just creating the gore factor, but then you also get the jump scares with scream and there is actually a pretty good plot line to it,” said Mrs. Schrebe, teacher of the Art of Film class.
There are so many different genres of horror, ranging from slasher to comedy horror. With so many different genres how can you know which is your favorite?
“I think supernatural is my favorite because it just scares the bejesus out of me,” said Dr. Romick.
Students have different opinions when it comes to their favorite scare tactic when it comes to horror.
“My favorite part of horror movies is the suspense,” said Shae Marling.
“Definitely jump scares,” said Kaden Schnarr.
