The girls basketball team defeated Morgantown on Friday, February 24th in the sectional final 66-61.

Nearly 540 tickets were sold for this highly anticipated game, “the atmosphere was very exciting and loud. It really helped the team to victory,” said Seneca Heller. Morgantown was not an easy team to beat, and this win will only benefit our girls for bigger situations, “To be able to play them in a tight game and to go through those situations, I think helps prepare [us] for Charleston if  [we’re] fortunate to get there,” says Coach Young.  This win has helped our girls remain ranked number one in the class AAAA, “It’s a lot nicer to be playing at home this year where we’re a lot more comfortable. We earned that with the sectional championship,” Coach Young said with a smile. They will now advance to the Regional Championship at home vs Buckhannon Upshur on Wednesday, March 1st.
