The Schultzs’: Jessica, Julie, and Russ Schultz all work at Wheeling Park High School and make our school their family business. Their jobs are very different from each other, but they all are in some way life changing.
Julie Schultz is a technology help personnel, she also helps out with the Park Players program. Julie Schultz is a new teacher here at Wheeling Park High School, but not new to Ohio County. She has had many different jobs across teaching, but her long term job was at Bridge Street Middle School. At Bridge Street, she was the choir and theater teacher for 12 years. Being a great teacher and changing people’s lives everyday, it’s great to see her expand her horizons and try new things while still doing the things she loves to do.
Russ Schultz is one of the art teachers. He shares his interest in art with many students across Wheeling Park High School, and expands their horizons by teaching people new techniques to teaching basic skills. When asked what his opinions were on his family working at Wheeling Park High School.
“I think it’s wonderful, I’m still getting used to walking through the ILC and seeing my wife sitting in her office, but it’s really neat,” Mr. Schultz said.
Jessica Schultz is a math teacher. Her job is very different from that of the other Schultz’s. When asked what it is like for her family to all be working at the same school.
“It’s cool, but it’s awkward at the same time,” Ms. Schultz said. “It’s a great opportunity to be able to share Wheeling Park with my family.”
In Jessica’s opinion she would rather not carpool with her family, but by herself.
While the Schultz’s are all family it can be awkward and tough at times, having very different jobs from each other they all have a different output at the end of the day. While one may not like to bring work home with them, the other might have to. Seeing that home should be a place for connection and peace, sometimes work is brought into that atmosphere and they learn to connect through it. While having awkward times they all learn to work through it, and at the end of the day they are a family working at a family to further use their teaching skills to impact lives.
