Crittenton Services are offering a Soup and Salad Luncheon with a donation of $15 where you can try out different soups by Ohio Valley’s best chefs! The donations go to local causes for mental health services, residential care, and trauma-informed educational services. This event is Wednesday, November 6, at the American Legion Post 1.
“The event started out with our junior board group who has a card party/luncheon as a fundraiser to support Crittenton. Over the years, the group no longer operated and the agency took it over. They morphed the fundraiser into a luncheon where the local chefs and restaurants donate soup, salad, desserts, and bread for the larger community in support of mental health,” said Jasmin Ilover, the director of business and marketing at Crittenton Services.
This event is important to our community and is a great help to mental healthcare.
“This event helps our agency to raise money to provide mental and behavioral health services to individuals and families across West Virginia. We fundraise approximately $7,000, and we use those funds to support our residential, community-counseling, and educational programming,” said Ilover.
The luncheon is always a great turn out with usually around 300 people attending.
“I am proud to work for an organization that annually focuses on the mental health needs of our clients and residents. It is a delicious way to remind ourselves that mental healthcare matters,” said community liaison Rachael Valentine.
The Soup and Salad Luncheon has been a fundraiser at Crittenton since at least 2003 and has been a great help for our community. Tickets can be purchased at https://www.crittentonwv.org/soupandsaladluncheon.
