Currently, our girls have a 4-6 record after competing against some talented teams in the Oak Glen Country Roads Tournament, “I think the tournament helped us become better as a team, because we were working together against good teams. It also was getting us back in the swing of things talent-wise,” said Grace Tamburin.

If we all really try our best to work hard, put in the effort, show up day to day, and do our best at every meet, we can definitely make top three at states this season, no doubt, ” said Jacob Murphy.
They will be hosting one meet this season, the Wheeling Park Fall Classic, “I think the last couple of years we won. It’s pretty fun, people come to see us sometimes. It’s nice, it’s not a far drive or anything. So it’s good to see some familiar faces while I’m running,” said Cole Montanye.
Our boys and girls will be traveling around the tri-state area, they ran in the Marty Uher Vulcans invite at Penn West California. They will also run in the Bob Reall Invite in Lancaster, OH, and Belpre Invite in Belpre, OH.

Cheer
After being awarded state runner-ups last year, our cheerleaders have their eye on the prize this season, “we practice 6 times a week for 2 1/2 hours and continue to push each other every day. We have a very close squad and we are all focused on one common goal. We hold each other accountable while still supporting and encouraging each other,” said Adisyn Gessler.
You will see our cheerleaders on the sidelines of the football games, hyping up the student section, but that is not all they are practicing for. Our cheerleaders are preparing to defend their 5A OVAC championship title and regional title, “my goal for the season is just to enjoy every second! I want to hopefully have some wins in the book for my last season,” said Amber Yanchak.

The Girls soccer team is off to a great start with a 5-1-1 record and a tie in overtime against Charleston Catholic, “my main goal for this season is to make sure everyone on the team is enjoying themselves both on and off the field. I know myself and several other upperclassmen make an effort to create a fun team environment that everybody can feel welcomed into,” said Caroline L’Ecuyer.
After losing to Morgantown in the sectional finals last year, our girls are ready to get revenge, “I feel like we have started off the season strong with a win against top teams like Marietta and Hurricane, so I hope we can carry that throughout the whole season.
