Wheeling Park is pleased to give Mr. C.J. Besece a warm welcome to the Wheeling Park Staff.
Mr. Besece is a new support staff member in our Wheeling Park High School community. He is a Community in Schools site coordinator for behavioral issues. He works closely with Mrs. Murphy helping her if a student is having attendance or behavioral issues. Mr.Besece can be found in room 226 by the counselors’ office. You can also contact Mr. Besece on Schoology.
“My main goal for Park is to improve our behavior for better,” said Mr.Besece.
Besece plans to improve behavior around Park “By providing specific resources, group discussions, Interventions, PBIS, and taking the proper steps to help prevent the behavior from reoccurring.”
Before Park, Mr.Besece worked with Option Pathways program for ten years in a different county. Option Pathways is for kids who are a drop out risk or students some with behavioral issues. He has experience working with kids who need resources and providing for the student body.
Mrs. Murphy, the CIS worker our building has come to know and love over the past few years, shares her thoughts on having Mr. Besece at Park, “Having Mr. Besece here at the high school changes my role a little bit because he will definitely pick up that part of the caseload that I had that was also behavioral. It takes quite a bit off of me because having a partner is really helpful.”
Now CIS is a two-person operation that helps to make our school a better place.
“We work well together–period”said Mrs.Murphy.
