Christmastime is here–time for crazininess and tears, especially if you’re traveling. Whether it be by plane, train, car, or even an RV, mishaps will happen, and your final destination will feel like the nuthouse. Implement the following tips into your christmas vacation to avoid feeling like a Griswald.
- Make a Packing List (and check it twice)
It might sound silly, but it is extremely helpful. You don’t want to be halfway to your destination and ask yourself, “Where’s the Tylenol?” Or even worse, “Where’s Kevin?” The rush and stress of traveling will make you forget things. Do not trust your memory.
- Patience, Patience, Patience
The traffic is going to be bad. The TSA lines are going to be long. Your dad is going to be losing his mind. Have patience, young grasshopper. Staying calm and collected will ultimately make the day go by smoother. Grab some Starbucks, put in your Airpods, and find your happy place.
- Be prepared for your plans to turn out Different than Expected
On Holidays, the possibility of road closures, traffic jams, flight delays, or even cancellationsare higher. Do not let changes in the plan or schedule ruin your day. While these aren’t the ideal scenario, keep them in the back of your mind, so you aren’t surprised as if you got your head sewn to the carpet.
