Student Council Elections!

Student+Council+Elections%21

At Park, being on the student council is a big commitment and responsibility. This year, we have a bunch of new and returning candidates. Between giving the ever-so-daunting speech, the fun posters to get people excited and to vote for you, and the excitement of winning the election! But there’s one thing that is different from one candidate to another–the way they handle all of this excitement! We spoke to student council candidates and this is what they are doing:

“Student council is my baby. Some of the most important things they do is help us plan all of the spirit weeks and dress up ideas for games, just giving us feedback on ways that we can improve the school and improve students’ experience,” student council coordinator Mrs. Dailer stated.

“I wanted to run for student council to be a part of the school and be able to make a difference,” senior president candidate Lucy Aderholt stated.

“I wanted to be a voice for people in our class. I want everyone to feel respected and a part of the school,” freshman president candidate Taylin Holt said.

“My #1 priority has always been the class of 2025 and I believe I have the ability, determination, and strive to make a positive influence on my class and community,” junior class president candidate Ciera Faulstick stated.

Raelyn Ward is running for junior class vice president, and here’s why she ran: “I ran for student council because I want to be the junior’s advocate for their words. Everyone’s words matter and I want anyone and everyone to be heard,” junior class vice president candidate Raelyn Ward said.

Karringtyn Miller is running for freshman class secretary and she ran to become a leader and get involved more.

Everyone does student council differently, but everyone has one thing in common: they look out for their fellow students and care about how they feel!
