Smilla Sloth is a sophomore foreign exchange student originally from Denmark. She came to America to work on her English skills and pursue a future in medicine back home. When Smilla returns home to Denmark she will finish up high school and then continue into college.
For fun Smilla does many different things to engage with her friends and community.
“I play soccer, and I like to go out with my friends,” said Sloth.
When Smilla first came to America she expected the highlight of her year to be one of the bigger events, like prom or homecoming, but as the end of her year is approaching she has realized that those singular experiences are not what makes being a foreign exchange student amazing.
“There’s not just one specific memory, it’s more just being here and everyday life, like being with my friends,” said Sloth.
While Smilla has loved her time here in America she is most looking forward to going home and seeing her family again. The Park Press wishes you well in back home in Denmark and wherever you end up at in life.
